Most Morocco tours follow a script—the same stops, the same timing, the same viewpoints. We chose the name Morocco Unscripted because the best travel experiences happen when that script gets set aside. When the stop at Ait Benhaddou runs longer because someone wants to climb to the top. When the camel trek departs a little later because the sunset light was worth waiting for.
The moments travelers remember most are almost never the ones printed on the itinerary. They’re the unplanned ones—the conversation with a nomadic family over tea, the silent minute at the top of a dune as the color changes. We build our tours to leave room for those moments.

Morocco Unscripted is a Marrakech-based local tour operator specializing in private desert tours and tailor-made travel experiences across Morocco. Our team is based on the ground — in Marrakech, in Fes, in the desert towns of the south — which means we know these routes personally, not from a guidebook.
We work with individuals, couples, families, and small groups who want a genuinely private experience: their own vehicle, their own driver-guide, and a schedule that adjusts around them rather than the other way around. We don’t run shared group tours. We don’t sell seats on buses. Every trip we organize belongs entirely to the people who booked it.
Our local guides in Fes and Marrakech are specialists in their own cities — the kind of knowledge that comes from living somewhere, not from memorizing a tour script. Our desert camps are selected because they’re genuinely comfortable and genuinely positioned where the dune views are best, not because they offer the highest commission. And our drivers are guides in the truest sense — they know the landscapes, the history, and the best places to stop for lunch.

When you reach out to us, you talk to a person who knows Morocco—not a booking platform algorithm, not a call center reading from a script. We ask about your travel dates, your group, what you’ve already seen if you’ve been before, and what you actually want from the trip. From there, we build a proposal that fits your specific situation rather than slotting you into the closest pre-packaged option.
The deposit we ask for is small. The remaining balance is paid in cash at the start of the tour, because we believe you should see the vehicle, meet the driver, and feel confident before the bulk of your money changes hands. We’ve been operating this way since we started, and it reflects a straightforward principle: we earn your trust through the trip itself, not before it.
If something isn’t right on the day—a stop that isn’t what you expected, a pace that doesn’t suit you—your driver adapts. That flexibility is not a special service. It’s simply what a private tour means.

Are you a local company or do you work through a third party?
We are a Marrakech-based team operating entirely on the ground in Morocco. There are no third parties, no booking platforms, and no middlemen between you and us. The person you correspond with is the same team that organizes your trip and briefs your driver.
Do you run group tours or only private tours?
Only private tours. Every trip we organize belongs exclusively to the people who booked it — your own vehicle, your own driver-guide, and a schedule that doesn’t involve waiting for or compromising with other travelers.
Can I really customize the itinerary, or is that just a phrase?
Genuinely. Every published itinerary on this site is a starting point. We regularly extend tours, swap stops, add extra nights, combine two itineraries, and build routes from scratch for travelers who know what they want. The tailor-made Morocco tours page explains the process in more detail.
How do deposits and payment work?
A small deposit confirms your reservation. The remaining balance is paid in cash — Moroccan dirhams or Euros — on the morning of departure, after you’ve met your driver and seen your vehicle. We’ve operated this way since we started because we believe you should feel confident before the bulk of your money changes hands.
