↝ Overview of the10-day tour from Casablanca to marrakech
10-Day Morocco Itinerary from Casablanca — The Complete Journey from the Atlantic to Marrakech
Some trips are about seeing as many places as possible. Others are about genuinely understanding the country you’re in. Our 10-day Morocco itinerary from Casablanca is built firmly around the second idea. You don’t rush through Chefchaouen on the way somewhere else—you have a full afternoon and evening to settle in on arrival. You don’t pass through the Merzouga region in a single sunset—you spend an entire separate day off-road, visiting Khamlia’s Gnawa musicians, an abandoned mining village, and a nomadic family beyond the dunes. You don’t arrive in Marrakech from the road and call that “seeing “it”—you have a full guided Day 9 with a local expert to actually explore the city.
The result is a route that covers every major region of Morocco—Casablanca, Rabat, Chefchaouen, Volubilis, Meknes, Fes, the Sahara, Todra Gorge, Dades Gorge, Ait Ben Haddou, and Marrakech—without any single stop feeling shortchanged. As a fully private Morocco tour from Casablanca, your vehicle, guide, and schedule belong exclusively to your group from the first pickup at Mohammed V Airport to the final transfer on Day 10. Furthermore, every stop can be reshaped through our custom Morocco tour service if you want to add, remove, or extend any part of the journey.

↝ Why Choose This 10-Day Itinerary From Casablanca?
Every itinerary we offer from Casablanca builds on the one before it. The 5-day gets you to the Sahara and back efficiently. The 7-day adds Volubilis and Meknes. The 9-day trip gives you full days in Chefchaouen and Merzouga. Our 10-day Morocco itinerary from Casablanca brings all of those together—plus the full guided Marrakech day that the 9-day doesn’t include—creating the most complete version of this route we run. Consequently, by Day 10, you’ve covered every major region of Morocco, from the Atlantic coast to the Sahara to the imperial cities to the High Atlas, without any single stop feeling rushed.
Furthermore, this remains a fully private Casablanca desert tour—your own vehicle, your own driver-guide, and two dedicated local guides (one for Fes and one for Marrakech) rather than a single person trying to cover the whole country. As a local Morocco tour operator based on the ground, we can also book this Morocco desert tour around your exact dates and flight times, with either a Marrakech or Casablanca airport drop-off on Day 10.

↝ 10-Day Morocco Itinerary: Day-by-Day Tour Plan
Day 1: Casablanca ⇢ Rabat
Your 10-day Morocco itinerary from Casablanca begins with a pickup at Mohammed V International Airport, followed by a visit to the Hassan II Mosque—one of the world’s largest mosques, rising directly above the Atlantic, with intricate tilework and carved marble throughout.
From there, the route continues to Rabat, Morocco’s capital, for visits to the Hassan Tower and the Kasbah of the Udayas before an overnight stay. (Landing late at night? You are transferred straight to your Casablanca hotel, and the tour begins the following morning.)
Day 2: Rabat ⇢ Chefchaouen
After breakfast, the four-hour drive north to Chefchaouen passes through rolling hills and Rif villages before arriving in Morocco’s most photographed town. You check in and have the afternoon and evening free to wander the blue-painted medina, explore the souks, and settle into a café with traditional Moroccan food.
Day 3: Chefchaouen ⇢ Volubilis ⇢ Meknes ⇢ Fes
After breakfast, a scenic drive through the Rif countryside leads to Volubilis—a UNESCO-listed Roman city dating to the 3rd century, where remarkably preserved floor mosaics and grand public buildings tell the story of ancient North Africa in genuine detail.
From there, you continue to Meknes for lunch and a visit to the medina, the monumental Bab el Mansour gate, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, before settling into your riad in Fes for the night.
Day 4: Full Day Tour of Fes
A knowledgeable local guide leads your full day in the UNESCO-listed Fes medina—the Royal Palace gate, Al-Qarawiyyin University, the Al-Attarine Madrasa, the Nejjarine Fountain, the Chouara Tanneries, and the Mellah—finishing at an ancient fortress with a panoramic view over the entire city. You return to your riad having genuinely explored one of Morocco’s most complex and rewarding cities, not just photographed its entrance.
Day 5: Fes ⇢ Ifrane ⇢ Middle Atlas ⇢ Ziz Valley ⇢ Merzouga
After breakfast, the route heads south. A short stop in the alpine town of Ifrane is followed by the Middle Atlas cedar forest, where wild Barbary macaques are often spotted, and lunch at a restaurant en route. The drive continues through the Ziz Valley palm oasis before arriving at the Erg Chebbi dunes in the afternoon for a camel trek and a stop for sunset atop a high dune. The evening continues at your luxury desert camp with dinner, Berber drumming, and a night under one of the clearest skies in Morocco.
Day 6: Full Day Exploring the Merzouga Desert
After a sunrise and breakfast at camp, the full day begins with a drive to Khamlia village, where the local Gnawa community performs traditional music with roots in Mali, Sudan, and Niger. From there, an off-road drive leads to M’Fis, an abandoned village built around old galena mines, followed by a genuine visit to a nomadic family living near the dunes for tea and conversation in their traditional Berber tent.
After lunch, you return to your riad for an afternoon at the pool, followed by an optional sunset quad bike or buggy ride across the dunes. Dinner and an overnight stay at the riad follow.
Day 7: Merzouga ⇢ Rissani ⇢ Todra Gorge ⇢ Dades Gorge
After breakfast, the route continues west. A stop at the Rissani souk is well worth it on market days (Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday), followed by a walk through Todra Gorge, where sheer canyon walls rise 300 meters on either side of the Todra River. The drive continues through Dades Gorge and its famous monkey finger rock formations before settling into your hotel for the night.
Day 8: Dades Gorge ⇢ Ouarzazate ⇢ Ait Ben Haddou ⇢ High Atlas ⇢ Marrakech
The route passes through Ouarzazate—the Hollywood of Africa—with an optional visit to Atlas Studios, followed by the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a filming location for Gladiator, Indiana Jones, and Game of Thrones. After lunch, the High Atlas crossing leads into Marrakech in the late afternoon—check in, take a first stroll through Jemaa El-Fna Square, and choose a rooftop restaurant for dinner.
Day 9: Full-Day Guided Tour of Marrakech
Your second-to-last day belongs entirely to Marrakech, with a local guide. The tour covers the city’s most iconic landmarks: Jemaa El-Fna Square, Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, Ben Youssef Madrassa, and the Koutoubia Mosque. After lunch, the afternoon is spent at the Majorelle Garden—a botanical masterpiece created by French artist Jacques Majorelle and later restored by Yves Saint Laurent—before an evening at leisure in the Jemaa El-Fna Square.
Day 10: Departure Transfer
On the final morning of your 10-day Morocco itinerary from Casablanca, you are transferred from your riad to either Marrakech Menara Airport or Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport, depending on your departure flight. It marks the end of a complete journey through Morocco—and, for many of our guests, the beginning of planning the next one. You can explore our Marrakech desert tours or broader Morocco itineraries whenever you’re ready to return.
↝ Frequently Asked Questions
Are 10 days in Morocco enough to see everything?
Ten days covers every major region properly—the Atlantic coast, the north, two imperial cities with full guided tours, the Sahara, the southern gorges, and Marrakech—without any stop feeling rushed. For a side-by-side comparison with shorter options, our Morocco itineraries page lists every route.
What is the best month to travel to Morocco?
Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) offer the most comfortable temperatures across all regions. Summer is very hot in the desert, but tours still run with early-morning timings. Winter brings snow to the High Atlas and cool weather in the north, which some travelers prefer.
What's the difference between this and the 9-day version?
The 9-day itinerary adds a full day in Chefchaouen and a full day in Merzouga but ends with a late-afternoon arrival in Marrakech. This 10-day version adds a complete guided Day 9 in Marrakech—Jemaa El-Fna, Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, and the Majorelle Garden—so you actually explore the city rather than just arrive in it.
